How does the Cashless Hospitalization Facility Offered by Medical Insurance Providers Work?

Majority of people in India worry for the future health issues that he/she or his/her family members can face. This anxiety is not for medical treatment but for the financial expenditure for the same. It has been observed that the treatment expenses bring a great change in the lifestyle of all family members. It is because the medical costs are sleepily rising. Thus, quality medical treatment brings financial stress to a family.
Health insurance providers have brought several products to help people, when they face unpredictable incident in life. Each of these products comes with a long list of benefits and facilities, coverage limit, features, etc. One of the most preferred facilities that come with these products and offerings is cashless hospitalization. Using this facility, an insured can avail quality medical treatment in network hospitals without paying for the same. It keeps an insured away from claim process, which people believe to be a complicated process.
An insured only needs to have approval from TPA or insurer. When a person visits network hospital for the treatment, he/she should show his/her health insurance card at the hospital. The representative there will fill the pre- authorization form, which would be sent to TPA or insurer, as the case may be. This form is approved and sent to the hospital.
Once the entire process of authorization and approval is done, an insured can avail treatment and can walk out of the hospital’s premises without settling medical bills, which are paid by insurer directly.
It is, therefore, advisable to choose the health insurance provider that has tied up with a large number of hospitals. One of such health insurance providers that have more than 400 hospitals in its network is Apollo Munich, a joint venture between the Apollo Group of Hospitals and Munich Health.
